As tomorrow marks the second Saturday of the month, schools will remain closed on November 8. Even those schools in Delhi NCR, Bihar, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh that normally operate on Saturdays will remain shut due to the second Saturday holiday.

Schools in Bihar have started functioning from today after the first phase of the assembly election is over. However, Saturday will be a holiday for all the schools in the state. The schools in this state will again close on the 11th of November, when the second phase will be held.

Will Schools Stay Closed on November 8 in States Affected by Cyclone Montha — Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Odisha?

School holiday tomorrow, November 8: Most schools in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Odisha, which were affected by Cyclone Montha, have reopened. Both private and government schools and colleges have started regular classes. However, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast mixed weather across India next week also.

Both private and government schools in these states will be closed on Saturday. Rain is expected to persist in southern and northeastern states, while northern and central regions will experience a significant drop in minimum temperatures. Between November 6 and 9, several states may see light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds. The IMD also forecasts a prolonged wet spell over the southern peninsula, particularly impacting Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

The region is likely to witness light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms throughout the week, and isolated heavy showers are expected between November 6 and 8. However, no districts have been put on alert for the time being.

Rayalaseema in Andhra Pradesh and parts of south interior Karnataka are also forecast to receive rain and thunderstorms during November 6–7.

Telangana Weather

School holiday tomorrow, November 8: Saturday will be a holiday for Telangana also. Most schools in Telangana have reopened, and regular classes are underway. However, school holidays may still be in effect in some districts depending on local weather conditions. Parents and students are advised to check with their respective district education departments or school administrations for updates. IMD has also warned of lightning and gusty winds reaching 30–40 kmph over Telangana on November 6-7. While the rainfall activity is expected to ease by the end of the week gradually, the India Meteorological Department has urged residents, especially in coastal and low-lying regions, to remain alert against sudden showers, localised flooding, and lightning strikes.
