The monsoon rains are still very strong in India. Many states are facing problems like heavy rain, flash floods, and landslides. Even in September, the situation has not improved much, and people are still struggling with the bad weather. Due to the high alert of torrential rains and landslide forecast, school closures have been extended in multiple states, where the classes will be disrupted for another week. If the rain and alert continues this again could be extended for more weeks.
States Extend School Closures
States like Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, and Uttarakhand have already announced closures. In some areas, schools may remain shut for more days if the rain continues or gets worse. The unrelenting rains have disrupted normal life, where the authorities took drastic measures to ensure public safety. In some regions, the closures are likely to be extended further, depending on the weather forecast and the severity of the situation.
