New Delhi: The Supreme Court Monday refused to entertain a plea claiming that political parties are misusing symbols during elections.

The plea had sought restriction on the Election Commission (EC) to allot party symbols. The petitioner further said that the task should be given to Returning Officer instead.

While dismissing the plea, the Supreme Court has also fined the appellant of Rs 25,000 to waste court’s time and filing a misleading petition.
