This comes after a series of events carried out throughout the day starting from the Delhi Police arriving at Rahul Gandhi’s residence to inquire about the victims of sexual harassment that the Congress leader talked about.

During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Rahul Gandhi on January 30, 2023, in Srinagar had mentioned that he met several women who were subjected to rape and domestic violence. After which, the Delhi Police on March 16 issued a notice to Gandhi regarding an inquiry about those victims.

However, the Conrgess leaders including Jairam Ramesh, Abhishek Singh Singhvi, Pawam Khera and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot raised questions back at the Delhi Police through a media interaction today.

The Congress party pointed out that the Bharat Jodo Yatra has ended 45 days ago then how come it took such a long time to the Delhi Police to respond on the statement.

During the conference, Singhvi also questioned the role of Delhi Police if the statement was given in Srinagar.

Meanwhile, Special CP (L&O) SP Hooda said that the Delhi Police wanted to talk over the issue with Rahul Gandhi but he was at a foreign visit. The police tried to approach him again on March 15 but failed.

Hooda also responded to a question from media person that why Delhi Police has taken action in the matter despite that the statement was given in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that the Congress’ footmarch also passed through the national capital so if there is any victim from Delhi itself or any other state then, they can immediately launch an investogation in the matter.
