According to the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation’s new rules, the Samruddhi Expressway toll price will increase by 19% starting on April 1, 2025. This toll hike will affect all passengers traveling between Mumbai and Nagpur via the expressway. The 701-kilometer expressway enables travelers to complete the journey between the two cities in just eight hours. Currently, the operational section runs from Nagpur to Igatpuri, while the Igatpuri-to-Amane portion is set to open soon.
About The Revised Toll Rates
After completion, the expressway will create shorter journey times for travelers although this advancement will result in higher expenses for drivers. According to the new toll system light motor vehicles will pay Rs 2.06 per km while light motor commercial vehicles will pay Rs 3.32 per km two-axle heavy vehicles will pay Rs 6.97 per km, three-axle heavy vehicles Rs 7.60 per km, and heavy construction machinery will pay Rs 10.93 per km with oversized vehicles with seven or more axles priced at Rs 13.30 per km
The Nagpur-to-Igatpuri light vehicle toll fare will increase from Rs 1,080 to Rs 1,290. The toll price for buses and light commercial vehicles will rise to Rs 2,075 from the previous amount of Rs 1,745. Minibuses together with two-axle trucks will now pay Rs 2,075 as their toll charge whereas before they paid Rs 1,745. The price of all commercial vehicles with three axles has risen from Rs 3,990 to Rs 4750 while heavy construction equipment now costs Rs 6,830 instead of the previous toll of Rs 5,740. Additional heavy vehicle toll rates have increased to Rs 8,315 based on published news reports from the previous amount of Rs 6,980.
The operational portion of the expressway covers 625 kilometers while further construction continues for 76 kilometers extending between Igatpuri and Amane. After completion, the 701-kilometer expressway will reduce the travel duration from 16 hours to 8 hours between Nagpur and Thane.
