During a Muharram procession in Dalsinghsarai of Samastipur district, some miscreants attacked a car returning from Madhubani to Patna with a family on board on Sunday evening. The attackers assaulted the car with swords, hockey sticks, and sticks, shattering the windows. All the passengers, including their son, were left scathed. Police arrested three people involved in the incident and two minors who were implicated in attacking the family.
On Sunday evening, at Sardarganj Chowk in Dalsinghsarai, during a Muharram procession, some miscreants suddenly turned aggressive and attacked a passing car on the roadside. Eyewitnesses claimed that while the assailants were assaulting the car with swords and hockey sticks, windows got broken. We were going from Madhubani to Patna when some people from the procession attacked our car suddenly,’ reminisces Amitesh Kumar, the driver of the car. ‘They broke the windows of our car with swords, hockey sticks, and sticks.’

In this attack, Amitesh Kumar and his son Suman were injured. There was hustle and bustle at the spot but, after the incident, the culprits absconded from the spot. Receiving the information, the police arrived on the spot and began an investigation into the matter.
SDPO Vivek Kumar Sharma said, ‘We got an input that during the Muharram procession, some miscreants attacked a car. Acting promptly, we arrested 3 people and detained 2 minors.” He said, “We are investigating the case and will very soon arrest the remaining’.
