Mumbai Cyber Police have filed charges against a 25-year-old man from Rajasthan, Banwarilal Laturlal Gujar, who was arrested for making threatening videos against Bollywood star Salman Khan. Gujar, who hails from a village in Bundi district, allegedly discussed the Bishnoi Gang in a YouTube video and hinted at plans to harm Salman.

Gujar was captured in Boarda village after a team was dispatched to assess the seriousness of the threat. A case was registered at the South Cyber Police Station under sections 506(2), 504, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and section 66(d) of the Information Technology (IT) Act.

This incident follows the Mumbai Police recording statements from Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan earlier this week regarding the shooting outside their residence in April. On June 4, a team from the crime branch, consisting of four members, visited Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, where Salman Khan resides.

Salman Khan’s statement was recorded for nearly four hours, while his brother Arbaaz Khan’s statement took more than two hours. The incident involved two motorcycle-borne men firing multiple rounds outside Salman Khan’s residence in the early hours of April 14. During the recording of their statements, officials from the crime branch asked Salman and Arbaaz approximately 150 questions, according to an official.

Salman Khan took the incident seriously, recognizing that there was a threat to his life, and he expressed appreciation for the efforts made by the Mumbai police to apprehend the perpetrators, the official stated. In his statement, Salman mentioned that he was at home on the day of the incident, having returned late at night. He was awakened by the sound of a bullet hitting his flat’s balcony, the official said, recounting Salman’s statement.

Arbaaz Khan was at his Juhu residence at the time of the incident, but his statement was also recorded because he was aware of the history of threats issued by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang against Salman Khan, according to the official. Police have asserted that the Bishnoi gang was responsible for the shooting. In the past, this gang had threatened Salman Khan, but according to the police official, they have not attempted to extort money from the actor so far.

Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal, the alleged shooters involved in the April 14 firing incident, were arrested from Gujarat. A total of six individuals have been arrested in connection with the case till now. One of them, Anuj Thapan, reportedly died by hanging himself in police lock-up on May 1.

In a separate incident, earlier this month, Navi Mumbai Police arrested five persons, including an alleged member of the Bishnoi and Goldier Brar gangs from Haryana. They were arrested in connection with a plot to attack Salman Khan.

Police stated that four gang members conducted surveillance on Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel, the vicinity around his residence in Bandra, and locations he frequented for film shoots. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently incarcerated at Sabarmati Central Prison in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, in connection with another case. Mumbai Police intend to approach a court to obtain custody of him, according to the official. Bishnoi’s brother Anmol, who is believed to be in Canada, has been listed as a wanted suspect in the shooting case.
