Congress leader Imran Masood has criticized Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s order requiring shop and dhaba owners along the Kanwar Yatra route in Uttar Pradesh to display their names. Masood argues that Muslims have long been serving Kanwar Yatris and adds that their work includes making clothing and decorating the Kanwars. He says the government’s hateful comments are pointless and won’t affect the pilgrims, who are committed to mutual love and respect, not to the government’s agenda.
CM Yogi Adityanath’s order aims to improve services for Kanwar Yatris by having nameplates displayed at all food and drink establishments along the Kanwar routes.
Saharanpur MP Imran Masood has criticized the Uttar Pradesh government’s actions regarding halal certification for products. He questioned if there are no other issues in the country, pointing out that those who want halal food will consume it regardless of certification.

Masood argued that the government is avoiding its responsibilities, mentioning that youth are struggling for employment, traders are suffering, and farmers are not receiving fair prices for their crops. He emphasized that Muslims have always played a role in serving Kanwar Yatris and expressed frustration over the focus on creating divisions instead of addressing these pressing issues.
He added that the clothing and decoration for Kanwar Yatris are largely handled by Muslims, and such divisive rhetoric does not impact the Kanwar pilgrims.
