Union minister and LJP (Ram Vilas) president Chirag Paswan on Saturday attacked the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, expressing concern over its failure to curb rising crime in the state, and said he is “saddened to support such a government.”
Speaking to ANI, Chirag Paswan said, “I feel sad that I am supporting such a government here…The way murders, kidnappings, looting, robbery, rapes have taken place one after the other in Bihar and now it seems as if the administration is completely incapable of stopping these incidents. If it continues like this, then it will create a very frightening situation in our state.”

He also mentioned, “I also believe that these incidents are being carried out as a conspiracy to defame the government. But even then, the responsibility of controlling it lies with the administration. Either the administration is in collusion with it or the administration has become completely useless and now it is beyond their power to keep Bihar and Biharis safe. I request the Bihar government to take action on this matter in a timely manner…”
This statement from Chirag Paswan came after a gang-rape incident was reported in Bihar’s Gaya. In a shocking incident from Bihar’s Bodh Gaya, a woman was allegedly raped in an ambulance by the driver and technician while being taken to the hospital. The incident occurred on July 24, after she fainted while participating in the Home Guard recruitment process at the BMP-3 parade ground.
The woman had collapsed during a race as part of the physical examination round, but instead of receiving medical aid, she was allegedly subjected to rape. Confirming the details in an official statement, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Anand Kumar said that the victim informed the police about the assault after regaining consciousness. Her complaint led to the immediate arrest of the technician, Ajit Kumar, and the ambulance driver, Vinay Kumar.
A Special Investigation Team has been formed under Bodh Gaya SDPO, Saurabh Jaiswal, to probe the matter.
