Sabarmati to Prayagraj Live Updates: Atiq Ahmed, a mafia-turned-leader in Uttar Pradesh, is being brought to UP from Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat. The convoy of UP STF and Prayagraj Police escorted gangster Atiq from Sabarmati Central Jail on Sunday evening. The convoy will take around 23 hours to cover the distance of 1271 km.
As per the order of a UP court, the verdict in a kidnapping case will be pronounced on March 28. On behalf of the court, all the accused including Atiq Ahmed have been directed to appear in court on this day.

Entry in Jhansi from Raksha border
Gangster Atiq Ahmed has been lodged in the Jhansi police line after taking entry in Jhansi from the Raksha border of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. No one is allowed to enter the said police line premises. The media has also been barred outside.
Convoy between Madhya Pradesh's Shivpuri, Jhansi
According to local media reports, the police convoy bringing Mafia Atiq Ahmed to Prayagraj is between Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh and Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. According to an estimate, it will reach Jhansi around 9:30. Jhansi police have also increased vigilance. Security personnel have been deployed on the possible routes through which Atiq would pass.

According to the news agency ANI, after Udaipur, the Prayagraj police convoy stopped at Shivpuri in Madhya Pradesh. After staying here for some time, left for Prayagraj again with Atiq. Some of its pictures have also been released by ANI. Atiq was also thrown out.

1271 km journey from Sabarmati to Prayagraj
According to the information, the UP police will take out gangster Atiq Ahmed from Sabarmati Jail in a short time. The police will reach Prayagraj in UP after covering a distance of 1271 km by road in about 24 hours. It has been told that a 45-member team of UP Police has reached Sabarmati Jail. This team includes an IPS officer, 3 DSPs and 40 policemen. The convoy consists of six vehicles.
Atiq Ahmed will remain in this jail of UP
According to news agency ANI, on shifting Atiq Ahmed from Gujarat's Sabarmati Jail to UP, DG (Prisons) Anand Kumar said that mafia-turned-gangster Atiq Ahmed will be kept in isolation in the high-security barracks of Prayagraj jail. There will also be a CCTV camera in his cell.

24-hour surveillance with cameras
