S Jaishankar Mocks Congress Manifesto, Calls It 'Irrelevant Piece Of Paper'

On Monday, External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar stated that there is no need to pay attention to the election manifesto of the Congress because it will simply become a piece of paper without any relevance once the BJP wins the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

While responding to a question regarding Congress’ claims that “if BJP gets 400 seats, it will change the Constitution,” EAM Jaishankar expressed satisfaction that the Congress acknowledged the likelihood of the BJP crossing 400 seats this time.

“We will utilize those 400 seats to propel the country forward. When the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government achieves above 400 seats, it will demonstrate our commitment to serving the people of India,” stated S. Jaishankar.

Challenging Rahul Gandhi’s stance on accepting leadership, the Union Minister questioned, “From Jawaharlal Nehru to Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister leads the country. How can you assert that you won’t accept a leader? Rahul Gandhi showed disrespect towards former PM Manmohan Singh during the UPA regime. Do you consider yourself superior to the PM just because the party functions like a family business?”

EAM Jaishankar conveyed genuine optimism about BJP’s prospects in south India for the upcoming elections. “The incredible public response to PM Modi in Tamil Nadu and Kerala is noteworthy. We have made significant strides in Karnataka and also gained traction in Telangana.”

Importantly, in the southern states, our appeal for votes extends beyond our manifesto to include our track record and achievements over the past decade. We have delivered essential services such as food, electricity, water, infrastructure, and education. Evaluating our track record will reinforce support for our goals for the nation. The people in these states have actively contributed to the progress over the last 10 years. Every initiative undertaken has left a positive impact on Tamil Nadu and Kerala, influencing the electorate positively,” elaborated EAM Jaishankar.

He added, “This election holds immense significance. We have laid a foundation over 10 years, and we are preparing to undertake substantial initiatives in the third term.”
