Row Escalates After PM Modi And Mallikarjun Kharge Engaged In Slugfest – Here’s What BJP, Congress Leaders’ Said

Row over promises of political parties have escalated further with several Congress leaders and BJP leaders engaging in attacks against each other. While Congress leaders have justified their party president Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement on PM Modi, BJP has also left no stone left unturned to criticize Kharge for his statement against the PM.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh asserted that Mallikarjun Kharge has given a strong reply to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to ANI, he said, “What to say about the non-biological Prime Minister. The Congress President and our Chief Ministers have given a strong reply to him. The person who has not spoken the truth even by mistake, is accusing the Congress party.” Ramesh further added that there is a huge difference between what he (PM Modi) says and what he does. “It is amazing that the person who has been engaged in ‘Jumla’ for the last 10 years and is today giving sermons to the Congress party and criticizing the Congress party, this makes me laugh,” said Ramesh.

Karnataka Minister and Congress leader HK Patil also lashed out at PM Modi’s statement on Congress. He said that a person who is holding such an important post is making such irresponsible statement. “Never in the history of India’s democracy, a PM has taken state governments so lightly…are we looting and giving to Adani like you all are doing, are we looting and giving to Ambani like you all are doing? The last (Lok Sabha) election result is a slap on your face, can’t you understand that,” said the Karnataka Minister.

BJP Criticizes Mallikarjun Kharge

As Congress launched attacks, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari slammed Kharge and alleged that Kharge is frustrated because his party is not giving him enough respect. Kharge even questioned Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Khata-khat” statement, added Tiwari. He said that Kharge says anything without thinking. He questioned, “Does the Congress consider Kharge as their chief? If they don’t consider him why should we consider his words? He keeps saying anything.”

BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan also added to the ongoing row and targeted Congress’s ‘desperate panic mode.’ Kesavan said that Congress is making such statements as they are aware of their defeat in upcoming assembly elections of Maharashtra and Jharkhand. He said, “Mallikarjun Kharge’s nervous tweets are a clear cut concession and admission of this upcoming Congress defeat in the elections. The people of our country very clearly know and understand the defining difference between the Congress party’s trickery and Modi’s guarantee.”
