Romeo Lane nightclub fire: Luthra brothers taken to Goa, to be produced at Mapusa court today

The duo was deported to Delhi from Thailand earlier on Tuesday, ending a 10-day international search following a deadly fire at their nightclub that killed 25 people on December 6.

Goa Nightclub Fire: The Luthra brothers, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora, were taken to Goa by the state police on Wednesday. Visuals captured this morning show Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra in police custody, being transported to Goa from Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport. The duo is set to be produced before a judicial magistrate in Mapusa today.

Delhi Court grants two-day transit remand

A Delhi court had earlier granted a 48-hour transit remand to the Goa Police to facilitate the duo’s transfer. Upon arrival, the state Police arrested and produced them before the Patiala House Court, following which they were transported to Goa for further investigation.

During the hearing, the police demanded a three-day transit remand of the Luthra brothers, citing the need for adequate time to complete procedural formalities and transport them. Duty Metropolitan Magistrate Twinkle Chawla, however, granted a two-day transit remand to the Goa Police.

Luthra Brothers fled India on December 7

Gaurav and Saurabh Luthra were deported to Delhi from Thailand earlier on Tuesday, ending a 10-day international search following a deadly fire at their nightclub on December 6. The duo fled India on December 7, hours after the blaze claimed 25 lives.
