In light of the recent criminal incidents, French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou was robbed of his mobile phone during a visit to Delhi’s popular Chandni Chowk market. Officials said that Mathou went to the market with his wife on October 20, PTI reported.
The embassy notified the police about the phone being stolen the following day. In response, Authorities immediately jumped into action – the CCTV footage was reviewed and a police team was formed.
Police arrested four suspects, between 20 and 25 years of age, and also recovered the stolen mobile phone that they robbed from Mathou’s pocket. Reports stated that the suspects hailed from the trans-Yamuna area, and an investigation into the case is ongoing.

Delhi Police Bust Gang Involved In Stolen Remote Radio Units
In a separate incident, Delhi Police busted a large network of people involved in stealing and selling Remote Radio Units from mobile towers abroad. According to reports, over 5,000 stolen Remote Radio Units worth more than Rs 100 crores were sold to Hong Kong and other countries.

Fifty-two people have been arrested and 700 Remote Radio units were seized in the matter. This investigation has also helped Delhi Police solve nearly 250 cases of RRU unit thefts.
