Roadways Sleeper Bus Overturns In Surat, Gujarat; Driver Allegedly Drunk, Incident Captured On CCTV

Sleeper bus overturns in Surat's Varacha area; driver suspected of intoxication; no fatalities reported. CCTV footage has confirmed the incident.

In Surat’s Varacha area, a sleeper bus belonging to the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) overturned after colliding with a divider late at night. CCTV footage has confirmed the incident, claiming that the bus was traveling at high speed. Allegedly, the driver, under the influence of intoxicants, failed to control it, resulting in the bus overturning. Fortunately, there were no fatalities in the incident, but several passengers sustained injuries. The injured passengers were promptly admitted to SMIMER Hospital in Surat with the assistance of 108 ambulances. Surat Mayor Dakshesh Mavani visited the scene following the incident.

Late at night, a bus traveling from Vapi to Dahod overturned in Varacha, Surat. The Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), along with the police, has initiated an investigation into the incident. The injured bus driver has been admitted to the hospital, where blood samples were taken to confirm intoxication. The driver reported losing control over the steering wheel, causing the bus to collide with an electric pole.

Passengers claimed to have felt an electric shock, but fortunately no lives were lost. After the bus overturned, bystanders rushed to help and rescued those trapped inside. Police arrived later to manage the situation. Many passengers were sleeping when the sleeper bus flipped, awakening only after the incident. They allege that the driver was intoxicated, leading to the accident as he was driving at high speed and lost control of the bus.
