Tejashwi Yadav’s big Bihar poll promise- Govt job for one member of each jobless household

The political atmosphere in Bihar has intensified ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Amid this, Leader of the Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav held a press conference on Thursday, October 9. During the press conference, Yadav made several announcements, outlining his party’s stance in the high-stakes political battle.

Govt job for one member of each jobless household

In a major poll promise, Yadav announced that one person from every household in Bihar without a government job will be given one if the Mahagathbandhan is voted to power in the assembly elections next month. He stated that "Job means Jashn of Bihar" and emphasised that he will only make promises that he can fulfill. Yadav also stressed that every youth will have a role and participation in the government formed by the alliance.

What did Tejashwi say?

Making a youth-centric announcement, Yadav stated that any family in Bihar that does not have a government job will be given a government job within 20 days of the government's formation, and within 20 months, a law will be passed. "I make a historic and youth-centric announcement today…We will bring a new Act and provide jobs to all families without a govt job…As soon as we form Govt, this Act will be brought within 20 days and in 20 months there will be no family without a Govt job. Yadav stated.

"We have done studies this scientifically, we have data of all such families on the basis of our survey. If we are making this announcement, it is my pledge that we are doing only what is possible. This is not 'jumlebaazi', we are not cheating anyone. Tejashwi does not need to give proof," he added.


Conclusion

The upcoming Bihar election will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, and counting will be held on the 14th. In the first phase, 121 constituencies will go to the polls on November 6. In the second phase, 122 constituencies will go to the polls on November 11. As the elections approach, meeting of political parties and discussion on seat-sharing have intensified in the state.
