Aasif Suhaf, Srinagar: Two local terrorists of Lashkar have been killed in the encounter with joint team of security forces at Alshipora Shopian area of South Kashmir on Tuesday, police said.
ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar told News24 that two terrorists have been killed, while the search operation is on. Vijay Kumar further said that the slain terrorists have been identified as Morifat Maqbool and Jazim Farooq. ADGP said that local Lashker terrorist Jazim was involved in the killing of Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma.
Police officials said that the anti terrorist operation against terrorists was launched yesterday late evening in Shopian, after police received specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. Officails said that soon the search operation was launched and around midnight the contact was established with the hiding terrorists triggering an gunfight.
After several hours of gun battle security forces successfully eliminated two Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorists, thus achieved a major success in Shopian area of Kashmir.
