After a temporary halt, construction work on the Sector 12-15 dividing road is set to resume. The machinery that had broken down earlier has now been repaired and brought back to the site. However, recent rainfall has left the road surface wet, delaying the removal of its top layer. According to officials, work will recommence as soon as conditions allow.
Thousands of motorists are facing trouble due to this incomplete work. The top layer of the road from the BPTP intersection to the dividing road of Sector 14 and 17 has already been removed, due to which gravel has emerged. Two-wheeler riders are facing the most problems — vehicles are skidding, and many people have fallen and been injured. The movement of heavy vehicles is raising dust on the road, which sometimes becomes so much that it becomes difficult to see ahead.

To deal with the problem of traffic jams, a slip road has been built near the nursery near Neelam Bridge. This slip road was completed about 20 days ago, but it has not been officially opened for traffic yet. Despite this, now two-wheelers have started running on it, which has definitely brought some relief.
This bridge bears the load of about one lakh vehicles every day, and it is very important for the connectivity of the NIT area. The headquarters of the Municipal Corporation and Badshah Khan Civil Hospital are connected to this bridge. There are also many big private hospitals on both sides of it. Ambulances get stuck here daily due to the traffic jam. To solve this problem, a slip road has also been built near Ajarunda Chowk.
