Renukaswamy Murder Case: Darshan’s lawyer, Anil Babu, clarified that Pavithra Gowda, a key suspect in the murder of a fan of the popular Kannada actor, is only a friend of Darshan and not his wife.
Earlier this week, authorities arrested Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 14 others for allegedly murdering Renukaswamy, a 33-year-old from Chitradurga.
Anil Babu told India Today TV that the reports claiming Pavithra Gowda is Darshan Thoogudeepa’s second wife or partner are false. He clarified that Vijayalakshmi is Darshan’s only wife, and Pavithra Gowda is just a co-star and friend.

Babu also stated that Darshan had no connection to Renukaswamy or the alleged murder. Regarding CCTV footage showing Darshan’s car near the crime scene, Babu clarified that Darshan was not in the car and that police have not presented any evidence proving he was there.
A CCTV footage was obtained showing the actor’s red Jeep at the murder scene. The Jeep was seen following a Scorpio car, which was allegedly used to dump the body. Police have seized both vehicles.
Anil Babu questioned whether the car in the footage actually belongs to Darshan, stating this has yet to be proven. He emphasized that the police must prove Darshan was in the car, which is crucial. Addressing allegations that Darshan paid the accused to dispose of Renukaswamy’s body and cover up the crime, Babu asserted that Darshan is not involved in the case and knows nothing about the payments.
