AS officer Ria Dabi, younger sister of popular IAS Tina Dabi, has been awarded ₹1 crore for her outstanding contributions to water conservation. She received the award on behalf of Udaipur, which secured second place in the Water Conservation Water Partner Award. The recognition comes as part of national efforts to promote water management and public participation in India.

Award Received on Behalf of Collector Namit Mehta

The award was formally received by Ria Dabi, who is the District Council Chief Executive Officer (CEO), on behalf of Collector Namit Mehta. Experts and officials credited the success to the combined efforts of Ria Dabi, DM Namit Mehta, and their team, highlighting their hard work in implementing effective water conservation projects across Udaipur district.

During the campaign, a total of 32,700 water-related works were completed in Udaipur under the supervision of Collector Namit Mehta. This remarkable performance contributed to Udaipur securing second place in the award category.

Rajasthan Recognized Among Top States for Water Conservation

As part of a national water conservation campaign, Rajasthan was ranked the third-best state in India for its water management initiatives. Within the state, districts such as Barmer and Banswara were awarded ₹2 crore each for their outstanding performance. Meanwhile, Udaipur and Jaipur were placed in the second category due to the scale of their water conservation efforts.

In Jaipur, under the supervision of local officials, 43,204 works were carried out during the campaign, which helped the district earn its second-category ranking. The campaign aimed to encourage efficient water use, community participation, and innovative water conservation methods across India.

Recognition at National Level

The 6th National Water Awards 2025 ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. During the event, President Droupadi Murmu acknowledged administrative officers who made significant contributions to water conservation and public participation initiatives.

Interestingly, Tina Dabi, Ria Dabi’s elder sister, was also honored at the same ceremony. As Barmer DC, Tina Dabi received the first prize for Jal Sanrakshan Jan Bhagidari (JSJB), recognizing her efforts to promote water conservation and citizen engagement.

The recognition of Ria Dabi underscores the crucial role of committed administrative officers in tackling water scarcity issues. Her work, combined with the efforts of her team and sister Tina Dabi, reflects a growing focus on sustainable water management and citizen involvement in Rajasthan.
