Rekha Gupta: From Student Leader To Delhi’s Chief Minister – Here’s A Look At Her Journey And Achievements

Rekha Gupta was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village of Haryana. Rekha's father was employed with the State Bank Of India as an officer. Later, Rekha Gupta’s family shifted to the Delhi and where she completed her education.

On February 19, Delhi BJP Legislative Party elects Rekha Gupta as its leader. Rekha Gupta is set to become the Chief Minister of Delhi. With this BJP is returning to the national capital after 27 years. In this assembly election Bhartiya Janata Party bagged 48 seats out of 70 seats.

About Rekha Gupta

  • Rekha Gupta was born in 1974 in Nandgarh village of Haryana. Rekha’s father was employed with the State Bank Of India as an officer. Later, Rekha Gupta’s family shifted to the Delhi and where she completed her education.
  • Rekha has been elected from Shalimar Bagh and will be taking oath as Chief Minister of Delhi on Thursday, February 20, 2025.
  • Rekha began her political career with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad at Daulat Ram College, Delhi University in 1992. 
  • After this she became the president of the DUSU in 1996-97.
  • She has served the north Pitampura as a councillor in 2007. Rekha has also worked for the betterment of libraries, swimming pools, and parks. 
  • She has also served as the General Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha in Delhi.
