The meticulously planned breach of Parliament security, orchestrated by six individuals, five of whom are currently in police custody, had a larger objective.
“The accused aimed to draw the government’s attention to several pressing issues through their coordinated action,” Delhi Police sources said.
“During interrogation, the accused revealed their grievances about concerns like unemployment, challenges faced by farmers, and the ongoing violence in Manipur. Their intent was to highlight these issues by releasing colored smoke to compel lawmakers to address these pressing matters in discussions,” they said.

“All of them shared a common ideology and sought to convey a message to the government. Authorities are probing whether they were acting under the instructions of any particular individual or organization,” stated an official familiar with the investigation,” they stated.
The breach occurred during a Zero Hour session in the Lok Sabha when Sagar Sharma leaped from the visitors’ gallery into the chamber. He discharged a yellow smoke canister and attempted to navigate through desks, aiming for the Lok Sabha Speaker’s Chair. MPs intervened, overpowering and apprehending him, while his accomplice, Manoranjan, discharged another smoke canister in the gallery.

Two other protesters outside Parliament released colored smoke from an aerosol canister, adding to the chaos.
One of the protesters, while being escorted by the police, addressed reporters saying, “We are students facing unemployment. Our parents work as laborers, farmers, and small shopkeepers. There’s an attempt to silence our voices.”

Following the breach, security around Parliament was significantly reinforced, with increased police and paramilitary presence. The Delhi Police’s Special Cell has taken charge of the investigation, seeking to unravel the deeper motivations behind the breach.
