Manipur: After visiting the violence hit Manipur, the 21-member opposition delegation on Saturday said that the aim of the visit was to provide “psychological healing” to the victims and they are ready to hold talks with Centre.
They also said that they could also offer their suggestion to the Centre regarding the restoration of peace in the state.
However, the opposition delegation also slammed the BJP-led central government for not sending their delegation to the violence hit sate and said that if the Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Manipur, they will happily join.

The grand opposition alliance – I.N.D.I.A delegation is on a two-day state visit, which witnessed ethnic violence since May 4.
While addressing the media following relief camp visit, Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi underlined that the I.N.D.I.A alliance is the only delegation which constantly visited Manipur.
He emphasized that if PM Modi wants to lead an all-party delegation to the violence hit state, they would be obliged to be a part of it as in the end they only want peace to be established in Manipur.
Congress MP also informed that the political parties from several states including West Bengal, Jharkhand, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu wanted to talk to the people of Manipur so that they can raise their issues in the Parliament.
Giving the details of the opposition delegation visit, Gogoi stated that they have visited We have visited a total of four relief camps, including two in Churachandpur, one in Imphal and one in Moirang.
He said that they only want peace to be restored and everyone builds their lives back in the violence hit area.
Gogoi claimed that they have visited a total of four relief camps and after discussing within the team they will meet Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey on Sunday.

“The main motive of coming to Manipur is that we have to understand the people’s expectation and then we will raise them in Parliament,” Congress MP said.
Gogoi said that this is the high time to held discussion over the Manipur Issue in Parliament.
“We are ready to have discussion with the government in parliament over Manipur violence and the Centre has to give us a roadmap to restore peace in the state. We will all listen to the government’s plan and provide our suggestions,” Gogoi added.
Earlier, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Manoj Jha said, “After meeting several families in the relief camp and listening to their problems, we have assured them the situation of the state will improve soon. We are all working in the same direction to restore peace in the violence hit Manipur.”
“This visit is a very first and minute step in the direction of providing faith and psychological healing to the victims,” Jha added.
While reacting to the BJP’s allegation that the opposition delegation doesn’t visit to other states including Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh, RJD MP said that they pray to god that this kind of incident does not take place in any state.
“If it does then we will definitely visit to that place as well. But, today at this statement, I would only say ‘Get well soon’. You are sick people…I leave it to PM Modi’s conscience to speak up and appeal for peace,” he added.
On the other hand, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury informed that the people of the Manipur are very scared, after meeting the victim’s in the relief camp.
Chowdhury alleged that people of the violence hit state have lost the confidence in the current government saying that the they don’t want to talk to anyone as they know that this government is not going to provide any help to them.
The 21 member opposition delegation comprised of Members of Parliament from both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, including prominent figures such as K Suresh, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Gaurav Gogoi, Rajiv Ranjan Lalan Singh, Sushmita Dev, Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, Sandosh Kumar, AA Rahim, Prof Manoj Kumar Jha, Javed Ali Khan, Mahua Maji, PP Mohammed Faizal, Aneel Prasad Hegde, ET Mohammed Basheer, NK Premachandran, Sushil Gupta, Arvind Sawant, D Ravikumar, Thiru Thol Thirumavalavan, Jayant Singh, and Phulo Devi Netam.
