After the passage of the Waqf (Amendment) Bill from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the Muslim organisation also reacted to the bill. Raza Academy’s chief, Al HazMuhammed Saeed Noori, thanked Shiv Sena (UBT) for opposing the bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
Noori expressed his gratitude to Uddhav Thackeray for opposing the bill in both Houses of Parliament. Allama Bunai Hassani, general secretary of All India Ulama Board, also hailed Uddhav Thackeray for not supporting the bill.
‘Such bills are no less than a trade or business‘
On Waqf Amendment Bill, Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said, “Such bills are no less than a trade or business. The government is vowing to protect Muslims, but in actuality, they are more focused on properties and land worth Rs 2 lakh crore.”

Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs minister Kiren Rijiju said there was not a single disruption during the discussion over the Waqf amendment Bill.
Kiren Rijiju said, “One important milestone that we have achieved in Rajya Sabha, yesterday – we created a new record – we discussed for 17 hours and 2 minutes in Rajya Sabha (over the Waqf Amendment Bill). It seems extremely difficult to break this record… There was not a single disruption during the discussion over the Waqf amendment Bill…”

The government introduced the revised bill after incorporating the recommendations of the Joint Parliamentary Committee, which examined the legislation introduced in August last year. The bill seeks to amend the Act of 1995 and improve the administration and management of waqf properties in India.

The Bill aims to overcome the shortcomings of the previous act and enhance the efficiency of Waqf boards, improving the registration process and increasing the role of technology in managing waqf records.
