Ratan Tata’s demise has sent out a wave of sorrow across the country. Everyone including common man, youth, political leaders, Bollywood celebrities and sports personalities are remembering Ratan Tata. He was a visionary business leader and loved by all. He was widely regarded as an ideal and source of inspiration by the youth.
His advices, preaching, success stories always provided the youth with fruitful insight. Not only the youth admired him, but Ratan Tata also loved the young generation and liked interacting with them. He liked the young minds and enjoyed their company. He was once quoted saying, “I have always enjoyed the company of spirited and enthusiastic youth of the country.” He even called the energy of the youth as infectious. He added, “Their energy is truly infectious, and they make me feel like I haven’t aged at all.”
He realised the power of the youth and asserted that youth stakeholders play a crucial role in development and growth of the organisation.
Ratan Tata was known for his principles and work ethics. He stressed that a group may look different in the next 30 to 50 years, but it should embody the same values and ethical standards that it has had. They should never forget that most of their earnings go to philanthropy and not to the pockets of its founders or leaders.
Touched Hearts With His Words
People remember him as kind and compassionate soul because of the empathy he had and the sensitivity he showed towards the workers. During Covid-19, when mass layoffs were happening, he said, “It is impossible to survive as a company if one is not sensitive to its people.” He highlighted that the companies need to react in the right way for the people who serve and work with them. He emphasised that one needs to accept the changes with time. “Accept that you have to change in terms of what you consider is fair and necessary in order to survive. “One cannot continue to do business in certain ways and one won’t survive if you are not sensitive to all your stakeholders. Working from home is one solution. Laying-off people will not help you solve your problems as you have responsibility to those employees,” Ratan Tata added.
What Did He Say About Youth?
He always admired the youth and even shared post on his Instagram applauding their creative minds and enthusiasm. In one of his posts, he said that he feels energetic in the company of youth. He even realised the potential of youth in making India, a global economic powerhouses.
He wrote, “I have always enjoyed the company of the spirited and enthusiastic youth of the country. Their energy is truly infectious, and they make me feel like I haven’t aged at all. Today’s webinar with 33,000 young minds was one of the most energising conversations I have had in a while. I wish them all the very best in their own journeys and hope they contribute to making India one of the global economic powerhouses.”
Message To The Youth
Even at his old age, he constantly engaged in conversation with the youth. His interest, dedication and willingness inspired everyone and set him apart from others.
He advised the youth to never lose hope when they face failure. He asked them to look at the brighter side and work on accomplishing their goals. He asserted that people should do what they believe is right and try to make difference.
He said that we should first identify ourselves as Indian and not Punjabi, Parsi etc. We should have pride in our country, he reinstated.
While the world might have lost him, but his words and vision will continue to guide people.
