A Rapido driver dubbed the “hero of Gurgaon gridlock” has been rewarded from the company for his outstanding work. In Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj story, she spoke of the driver as he drove her home in a massive six hour long traffic jam that quickly went viral.

Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj who was one of the commuters stuck in the “Gurujam” that afflicted Gurgaon a few days back recounted how his Rapido driver name Suraj Maurya got him to her destination while they were stuck in traffic for hours on end.

“Rapido called him to the office today and gave a gift for his hard work & all the appreciation he is receiving for his kind gesture of driving for 6 hours on that nightmarish day to drop me home,” she added and concluded the post with a picture of Maurya.

Gurgaon woes
The unending rain has caused severe traffic jams and waterlogging across various areas of the city. Videos have circulated on social media, showing the commuters attempting to dodge the impediments caused by the rain to carry on with their working lives.
One such video shows office-goers on the back of a mini truck, returning from work, while another clips has crowds of people at a metro station in Gurgaon. Some videos also showed pictures of flooded streets in expensive areas!
