Rapid Rail Project: The process to link cities within a radius of 200 km around the National Capital under the Rapid Rail Project is being carried on the full swing. The work of Delhi-Meerut Rapid Rail is in the final stage. The ongoing work on this project will be completed soon in two phases.
As per the reports, the first will see the connection of Delhi-Agra Rapid Rail to Noida International Airport via Delhi Railway Station. While second phase of the project will connect New Delhi Railway Station to Agra.
Project’s objectives
The objective of the rapid rail project is to minimise the travel time for those who live within the radius of 200 km of New Delhi. They can easily commute from their respective city to New Delhi within the time span of just 1 hour. This project is beneficial for those who work in Capital and their families reside nearby cities like, Agra, Meerut and others.
Another noted objective of the project is to link Noida International Airport to Delhi-NCR regions. New Delhi Railway Station will be connected to Noida International Airport under this initiative.
Officials informed that the foremost aim of this project is to provide better connectivity to cultural, religious and tourist centers around the Capital. So that tourists or travellers can reach Noida, Greater Noida, Vrindavan, Mathura and Agra from Delhi in no time without hassle.
Project report
As per the media reports, the government is likely to get the detailed report on this project in the next few months. The distance of the first phase of the Delhi-Agra Rapid Rail Project will be about 100 km while the distance of the second phase will also be 100 km. That is, 200 km rapid rail corridor will be built under both the phases. It is being said that through the Rapid Rail Project, a distance of 200 kilometers can be covered in just 60 minutes.
