What’s Happening in the Ceremony?

Shashikant Maharaj, from the Anjani Seva Sansthan, has given a detailed explanation about what will happen. The ceremony will begin with traditional Vedic chants and havans. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will be there to officially do the ceremonial ‘uncovering of the eyes’ for the idols of Lord Ram and Sita. This act is very important as it is believed that this brings life into the statues. This event is for ‘Raja Ram, ‘ showing him in his full, regal form.

The Beautiful Ram Darbar Idols

For the Ram Darbar, there will be a beautiful idol of Lord Ram along with Mata Sita. They will be sitting on a two-foot-high white marble throne. Next to them, there will also be idols of Lord Hanuman and Lakshman, sitting down. All these idols and their throne are carved from pure white marble from Jaipur, a city famous for its stonework in Rajasthan. The Ram Darbar itself is 4.5 feet high. The Ram idol will also wear fancy crowns, belts with jewels, and clothes made with gold thread and precious stones, designed by Manish Tiwari.

As a special treat, 62,000 boxes of ‘prasad’ are being sent from Lucknow. These ‘prasad’ boxes contain the sweet Barfi.
