Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was discharged from the hospital two to three weeks ago. He was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai.

It is being said that he was ill for a long time. He was last seen in public during the launch ceremony of Akasa Air.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the demise of Rakesh Jhunjhunwala.

“Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was indomitable. Full of life, witty and insightful, he leaves behind an indelible contribution to the financial world. He was also very passionate about India’s progress. His passing away is saddening. My condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti,” PM Modi tweeted.

It is being saidd that Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was discharged from the hospital two to three weeks ago. He was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. According to hospital sources, he died before reaching the hospital at 6.45 am.

He had gone to the hospital a few days ago as well. He was brought to the hospital this morning after suffering a heart attack. He was declared brought dead on arrival at the hospital.

About a week ago, he started his airline Akasa Air. The first flight of Akasa Air took off from Mumbai to Ahmedabad on August 7. He started this company along with aviation businessmen Aditya Ghosh and Vinay Dubey.
