While addressing the Jawans, he said, “After assuming the charge of the defence ministry, I have always emphasized that no matter what the global scenario is; there shouldn’t be any lack of preparedness.” He added that we all should be always ready proactively with all the options and remain firm in national security as this is the need of time.

He further emphasised on the commitment towards the glory of national flag, ‘Tiranga.’ Defence Minister said, “Let us all reiterate our resolve to constantly strive to elevate the pride and glory of India through our thoughts, words and actions. We will remain committed to further enhance the glory of our tricolour flag,”

He congratulated the soldiers for organising the Viajayadashmi event and extended greetings to their families.

Speaking on the occasion of VijayaDashmi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “We all know that today’s festival is the symbol of victory of good over evil. When Lord Rama got victory over Ravana, the evil – it was the victory of humanity.”

He said when Lord Rama achieved victory over Ravana, he did not achieve it for himself, Rama fought that battle for the whole of humanity. It was victory of humanity. Lord Rama didn’t have animosity with Ravana and nor was he driven by hate to fight against him. He fought against him because Ravana didn’t believe in human values and morals.

He said that he sees principles of Lord Rama in Indian soldiers as we haven’t raised arms against any country. The minister said, “We have never attacked any country as we have no enmity with anyone in our hearts. We have fought war only when any country has disrespected our integrity and sovereignty, when any country has started a war against Dharm, truth and human values.”

He referred to these principles as our traditions which we have inherited from our ancestors and we should pledge to keep this intact.

While he declared that we don’t attack any country, he also made it clear that India won’t step away from taking big action if any threat to its interest is posed.

Rajnath Singh earlier, addressed Army Commanders Conference from Sukna, Darjeeling. He was supposed to travel to Gangtok, Sikkim where the conference is being held but could not because of inclement weather.

A Shift Towards BJP's Aggressive Hindutva Amid Opposition's Leadership Crisis

The Maharashtra election may further push the Congress down as it has lost the election at a time when it needed a win most desperately. Though the Congress succeeded in pushing the BJP to a corner and stopping it at less than a majority on its own, it failed to make any headway further.
