Ahead of the third phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections, what does the world’s biggest party think? What’s on the mind of the BJP? Senior leader and Defence Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, speaks exclusively on it with the editor-in-chief of News24, Anurradha Prasad.
Not just Amethi, Congress is going to lose Raebareli too, said Rajnath Singh while discussing the Lok Sabha polls. He also stressed that the Congress workers wanted to see Rahul Gandhi contesting in the Amethi constituency but chose Raebareli, which clearly states how confident the Congress party is.
Speaking on the allegations of changing the constitution, the Defence Minister said that the Congress party made a total of 80 amendments and now blaming us for making the required changes.
The Congress party is spreading a delusion against the BJP, said Singh as he added that no Muslim citizen has been deprived of its rights or citizenship to date and the benefits of the government schemes are reaching all the communities irrespective of where they come from. Mentioning a few govt. schemes, he said that everyone benefits from them so the myth that the BJP is against some community or BJP doesn’t support their growth is a tool used by Congress which is completely baseless.
On the Agniveer scheme, he firmly stated that the policy is for the betterment of the youth and the country and all the doors of opportunity are open for them after the tenure. And the government strives to do better for them.
“Men are valued based on the position they occupy”, quoted Rajnath Singh stating that he has never asked for a ticket to an election ever. He mentioned the phase of his life when he was behind bars during the emergency and was in a solitary jail for a few months. Coming from that phase, he adds that he never thought about attaining the position he has today but whatever he does is a selfless job for nation-building.
