Congress that keeps labeling the current government as a dictatorship didn’t maintain the bare minimum level of humanity when it was on the epitome of its power. In the latest episode of the ANI podcast, defence minister Rajnath Singh reveals a heartwrenching story.
When Congress crossed the line
During the era of emergency in 1975, dozens of leaders who opposed the so-called arbitrariness of the Indira Gandhi govt were sent to jail. It was during the same time that the mother of Rajnath Singh was ill and hospitalized in Varanasi after a brain hemorrhage. She remained in the hospital for 27 days before losing the battle to death. The Congress govt didn’t allow Singh to visit his mother even once when she was in the hospital. He was not allowed to see her for the last time after her death. He couldn’t attend the last rites because the administration denied him parole.

India hasn’t lost an inch
While speaking on the stances of China, defence minister repeated what late prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had said – We can change friends but not neighbours. Stressing the Modi government’s stand on Indian territory, he added that not an inch of Indian land has gone and the government under Narendra Modi’s leadership will never let it happen.

POK hamara tha, hai, rahega
Answering a question by Smita Prakash on POK, Rajnath Singh firmly said that POK was ours, is ours, and shall remain ours. If Pakistan shields terrorism and tries destabilizing India, it will have to bear the consequences. If it is incapable of fighting against terrorism, India is ready to cooperate.
He also hit nepotism in Congress during the interview and stated that it is due to the family that the party has lost its significance and we lack a strong opposition which is vital for democracy. On allegations over Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest, he said that if he is behind bars because of centre govt then he should have gotten relief from the high court.
