Devmali Village in Beawar, Rajasthan, has been named India’s Best Tourist Village. The central government will present the award on November 27 in a ceremony held in Delhi.
The village follows some strict traditions like no one eats meat, fish, or drinks alcohol. Even burning neem wood and using kerosene are prohibited. Devmali is best known for the famous temple of Lord Devnarayan, which draws in thousands of visitors every year.
Situated in the Aravalli hills, Devmali spreads across 3,000 bighas and is named after Lord Devnarayan. There are no permanent houses in the village, but its hilltop temple adds to its natural charm.
