Rajasthan: NEET Aspirant Dies By Suicide Hours Before Medical Entrance Exam In Kota

A 17-year-old NEET aspirant from Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, died by suicide in Kota, Rajasthan, on Saturday evening, just hours before the national medical entrance exam was scheduled to take place on Sunday.

A NEET aspirant allegedly ended her life by hanging herself from an iron grille in Rajasthan’s Kota, only a few hours before the national medical entrance exam on Sunday. Circle inspector at the Kunhadi police station, Arvind Bhardwaj, said the girl was a minor and the student was from Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh.

Kota Coaching Centre’s Reprimanded By CCPA

Last month, the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) reprimanded several coaching centres for violating advertising standards and engaging in unfair trade practices with respect to educational institutions engaged in preparing students for JEE for undergraduate engineering programs and NEET for undergraduate medical programs.

A notice was issued against those institutes for falsely promising top ranks, assuring selections, and failing to provide the promised service. “Advertisements must be clear, honest and not conceal crucial information from prospective students and their families,” said a senior consumer affairs ministry official familiar with the development.
