The body of a man stuffed in a blue drum was recovered from the first floor of a rented house in Adarsh Colony of Tijara district on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Hansraj, who was living there with his wife and three children for about six weeks. Currently, his wife and children are missing.
The owner of the house, who is an elderly woman, smelled a strong stench when she went upstairs. Later, she informed the police and it was found that a heavy stone was also placed on top of the drum to hide the smell.
According to NDTV, police reached the spot and opened the lid of the drum. Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said that after receiving a complaint of foul smell, the team reached the spot and found the body of a young man in a blue drum. He has been identified as Hansraj alias Suraj. He used to work at a brick kiln in Kishangarh Bas.
Forensic experts have been called to collect evidence and police are investigating the cause of death. Also, the search for Hansraj’s wife and children is on and other family members are also being contacted by the authorities.
No suspect has been identified so far and the investigation is continuing. This case reminds an the UP’s Meerut incident where the body of a man was recovered in a blue drum. In that case too, an attempt was made to hide the body, forcing the police to conduct a detailed investigation so that the whole truth could be revealed and the culprits could be caught.
