In a shocking and disturbing incident, an elderly couple allegedly died by suicide at their residence in Nagaur, Rajasthan due to continued harassment by their children, police said. According to media reports, the couple’s bodies were found inside the water tank within their home.
The authorities found a suicide note pasted on the walls of the home, which detailed the alleged abuses they suffered at the hands of their children over property disputes.
Nagaur Superintendent of Police, Narayan Togas said they received information that there was no movement seen in the house of the couple for the past two days. Following the information, the police reached the spot and searched the nearby spots. The bodies were later discovered in the water tank.

He said, “In the morning, their son called the Police station and said that neighbours are saying since the last 2 days, there has been no movement of his mother and father and that he feels they might have taken some extreme step. Police reached the spot, searched the nearby spots and found their bodies inside a tank. Post-mortem will be done… there was a suicide note written on the wall and according to that it appears to be a case of family issue.”

A thorough probe is being conducted into the case by the police.
