Rajasthan CID arrests Pakistani suspect in Jaisalmer for spying for ISI

During interrogation, it was revealed that Hanif Khan possessed information about important military installations and troop movements.

Rajasthan CID Intelligence on Thursday arrested a Pakistani spy, Hanif Khan, from Jaisalmer for sending confidential information related to the Indian Army to the Pakistani intelligence agency ISI. CID Intelligence has registered a case under the State Secrets Act 1923 and arrested Khan. The team had found the activities of 47-year-old, Hanif Mir Khan, a resident of Basanpir Juni, Sadar police station, currently residing in Mohangarh, Jaisalmer, suspicious. Adding to the suspicions, investigations revealed that he was in constant contact with the Pakistani intelligence agency through social media.

Khan, a resident of Bahla village near the India-Pakistan international border, had easy access to border areas. During interrogation, it was revealed that he possessed information about important military installations and troop movements. Moreover, it was found that during Operation Sindoor also, he was in contact with a Pakistani handler and was sharing information about troop movements, Rajasthan Police stated.

The statement by Rajasthan police added that an interrogation by various intelligence agencies at the Central Interrogation Centre, Jaipur, and mobile phone technical investigations also established that Khan was providing military strategic information to the ISI in exchange for money.
