The Railway Ministry will fill 32,000 positions in the Railway Protection Force (RPF). Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav stated in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that railways have provided 5.02 lakh jobs from 2014 to 2024, marking a 25 percent increase compared to the 4.11 lakh jobs during the UPA government’s tenure from 2004 to 2014.
After easing COVID-19 restrictions, authorities have successfully recruited 1,30,581 candidates through a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
In writing, the Railway Minister responded to a Lok Sabha query. The CBT was held for over 1.26 crore candidates across 211 cities in 726 centers, conducted in seven phases from December 28, 2020, to July 31, 2021. Similarly, during five phases spanning just over a month—from August 17, 2022, to October 11, 2022—more than 1.1 crore candidates were evaluated via CBT in 191 cities and across 551 centers.
