New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Sunday hit out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that his actions never match with his words. He said the PM vouches for Khadi for the nation while having no objection against the polyester used for the national flag.
Tweeted the Senior Congress leader: ‘Khadi for Nation’ but Chinese Polyester for National flag! As always, the words and actions of the PM never match.

The PM on Saturday emphasised on the importance of Khadi while recalling its importance during the freedom movement. He further said it has a symbolic role of India’s self-respect by Mahatma Gandhi.
During ‘Khadi Utsav’ event in Ahmedabad, the PM Modi said the handspun textile can be a source of inspiration for the Atmanirbhar Bharat.
On Sabarmati front, where the event was held, PM Modi claimed Khadi has been inferiorly treated after the India’s Independence. However, he said, the handspun textile has been promoted even more since past eight years.

However, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh and CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury joined the row and made remarks alleging ‘doublespeak’ by ‘people of Hindu ideology’.
Hypocrisy Zindabad!
From someone who is destroying livelihoods of those who make national flags from Khadi, once described by Nehru as the livery of India’s freedom.
From someone who was a pracharak in the organisation that took 52 years to hoist the National Flag in Nagpur! https://t.co/2aajcZRiP5

The sheer brazenness to talk about Khadi after having amended the flag code to destroy our small manufacturers in Khadi is reflective of the doublespeak indulged in by these persons of Hindutva ideology. https://t.co/CMaKmHhAzR
