Rahul Gandhi Slams Govt Over Alleged Negligence In Jhansi Hospital Fire

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi called on Saturday for an investigation into the deaths of newborns at a medical college in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi town and demanded accountability for the alleged negligence that led to this tragedy.

In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi expressed, “It is disgusting to learn that several newborn children died and others got injured in the tragic mishap at Jhansi Medical College. The Minister said: “On behalf of the government and myself, I want to extend my sympathies to the families of the deceased.”
”It seems that such tragic incidents are happening one after another in Uttar Pradesh which raises so many serious questions about negligence of the government?” he pondered.

The Congress MP, further said that the government should at least hastily ensure that these injured children receive the best treatment possible. He also insisted that the case should be investigated without delay, and severe legal consequences should be taken against the culprits.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that Rs two lakhs from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) will be given to the families of the victims in connection with the mishap in the fire accident at a medical college in Jhansi of Uttar Pradesh. The injured would be given Rs 50,000,” stated the Prime Minister’s Office on X.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath also mourned the death and assured to extend five lakh aid to each of the parents of the dead babies in the tragedy. Similarly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered the Divisional Commissioner and DIG of the Jhansi region to submit a report regarding the incident in the next 12 hours. Chief Minister Relief Fund has also ensured Rs. 50,000 to the injured people’s families by the UP government.
