Nava Raipur: After a successful “Bharat Jodo yatra” from the south end of the nation to the North end, Congress is considering a Pasighat to Porbandar padayatra. Party’s general secretary Jairam Ramesh said on Sunday that Rahul Gandhi called for taking the “tapasya” of the Bharat Jodo Yatra forward.
As per sources, Jairam Ramesh said that there was a lot of energy and enthusiasm among party members during the 4000 km Kanyakumari to Kashmir “Bharat Jodo yatra”.

The Bharat Jodo yatra commenced in September last year and ended in January this year. Thousands of Congress workers including top leaders participated in the Yatra with former Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
According to reports, an east-to-west yatra, probably from Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh to Porbandar in Gujarat, is being considered by the Congress party. The format of this new east-to-west yatra would be different from the “Bharat Jodo Yatra”.
Jayaram Ramesh said, “Probably there would be less number of Yatris in this new Yatra and the distance would also be shorter. The format of the Eastern Part of the Nation to the Western part of the Nation will be different from ‘Bharat jodo Yatra”
