New Delhi: Lashing out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Tuesday said the Opposition front I.N.D.I.A. “will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur.”

Taking to Twitter, Gandhi said, “Call us whatever you want, Mr. Modi. We are INDIA. We will help heal Manipur and wipe the tears of every woman and child. We will bring back love and peace for all her people.”

‘We will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur,” he added in the tweet.

PM Modi’s Launches Attack at I.N.D.I.A.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi had made a scathing attack at the Opposition front comparing it with the East India Company. “He said even the Popular Front of India and India Mujahideen have INDIA in their names and so does ‘Indian National Congress.’ Nothing changes by adding INDIA in your name,” he added.

Demands over PM Modi’s statement on Manipur Violence

This comes amid the constant uproar by the Opposition leaders demanding PM Modi to speak on the violence engulfed Manipur since last three months. The Opposition has been putting the demands in the Parliament since July 20 the day Monsoon session began, due to which, the House has been facing multiple adjournment.

In the latest, the Lok Sabha on Tuesday was adjourned first till 2 PM then to 5 PM. Lok Sabha chairperson Om Birla urged the leaders to resume their seats so the functioning in the Parliament could take place but the Opposition persisted on their issue.

Rahul Gandhi couldn’t reach Parliament due to conviction 

This time, Congress’ former chief Rahul Gandhi could not attend the Parliament proceeding due to his disqualification from the Lower House in March. His disqualification was ordered after a Gujarat Sessions court convicted in the Modi Surname Defamation case.

Recently, the Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Gujarat government over the verdict of the Gujarat High court refusing to order stay on Rahul Gandhi’s conviction. Rahul Gandhi was representing Kerala’s Wayanad seat in the Lok Sabha.
