New Delhi: Senior Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Friday asserted that the “arrogant regime” wanted to supress the questions Rahul Gandhi has been asking regarding public interest.
Responding to the Gujarat High Court verdit in the Modi surname defamation case, Vadra said, “Arrogant regime wants that questions of public interest should not be raised, arrogant power wants that questions that improve the lives of the people of the country should not be raised, arrogant power wants that they should not be asked questions on inflation, nothing on employment of youth.”
“There should be no voice for the welfare of the farmers, there should be no talk of the rights of women, the question of honor of the laborers should not be raised,” wrote Priyanka Gandhi in a tweet.
Lashing out at the current Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, Priyanka Gandhi said, “The arrogant power is trying every trick to suppress the truth, it is adopting all the means, price, punishment, discrimination, deceit, hypocrisy to distract from the questions related to the interests of the public.”
“But, in front of truth, satyagraha and the power of the people, neither the arrogance of power nor the veil of lies over the truth will last long. Rahul Gandhi ji has lit the light of questions related to the interests of the public in front of this arrogant power,” added Gandhi.
She said, Rahul Gandhi is prepared to pay any cost. “Despite all the attacks and tactics of the arrogant BJP government, Gandhi did not shied away from raising questions related to the public, like a true patriot. Standing on the duty path of sharing the pain of the public,” said Priyanka Gandhi.

Gujarat Court Denies Relief To Rahul Gandhi
The Gujarat High Court Friday refused to order stay on senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction order in the ‘Modi Surname Defamation case.’
This has come to Congress as a major blow that has lowered Rahul Gandhi’s chances to be reinstated in the Lok Sabha. Had the Gujarat court allowed him the stay then, Rahul Gandhi might have gotten his Lok Sabha seat.
