For the past ten years, his government has systematically tried to weaken it. Today, he is determined to erase MGNREGA altogether.”

Rahul Gandhi’s reaction came after the Centre has introduced the Viksit Bharat Guarantee For Rozgar And Ajeevika Mission (Grameen) (VB-G Ram -G Bill) 2025 in the Lok Sabha to replace the MGNREGA for rural employment.

States will be forced to bear 40% of the costs 3. Once funds run out, or during harvest season, workers will be denied employment for months.”
