With ending of monsoon, season of Rafting in Rishikesh has begun. As per the reports, river rafting has begun from 23 September, 2024 for which the booking commenced in August.
Rishikesh in Uttarakhand welcomes tourists from all over the country during the peak rafting season. Due to the proximity from major cities like Delhi, Shimla, Jaipur it has become a favourite holiday destination of people. Comfortable climatic conditions add to the rafting experience of people.
Rafting season usually begins in end of September and lasts till mid-December. Then, again restarts from February to mid-June. It remains close during the months of monsoon due to heavy rainfall in the region and increasing level of river.
Do’s and Don’ts for Rafting
The minimum eligibility for rafting is 14 years and minimum weight of 35 kg. Overweight, pregnant women and people suffering from any other medical conditions are not allowed.
Alcohol and drinking is not allowed during rafting. People are advised to wear comfortable clothes, sturdy shoes and carry their toiletries.
People can book the slots for rafting online also. The budget for rafting is approx INR 2,500 (per person). However, it varies according to the companies providing the facilities. Rafting usually begins in morning and continues till day.

The famous rafting stretches are Rishikesh to Kaudiyala, shivpuri, Brahmpuri, Marine drive, Byasi.
