Putin India Visit LIVE: Russian president Vladimir Putin began his visit with a private dinner with Modi at the Prime Minister’s official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. On Friday at 11 a.m., he will receive a ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhavan, after which he will visit Rajghat to lay a wreath at Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial. The 23rd India-Russia annual summit will begin at 11:50 a.m. at Hyderabad House, followed by press statements from Modi and Putin. Putin last visited India on December 6, 2021, for the annual summit, but he did not address the media then because it was a short visit.
Pact on Trade, investment, economy and defence are on the agenda.
The India-Russia talks are expected to result in agreements across trade, the economy, healthcare, academia, culture, and media. Both countries see the visit as an effort to strengthen their strategic and economic partnership, especially at a time when India’s ties with the US have taken a sharp downturn.
PM Modi presents copy of Gita in Russian to Putin
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Vladimir Putin.
“Presented a copy of the Gita in Russian to President Putin. The teachings of the Gita give inspiration to millions across the world,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
PM Modi hosted a private dinner at his 7, Lok Kalyan Marg residence for Putin, who is on a two-day visit here.
