Tight security has been put in place across Delhi during Putin’s two-day visit, and several traffic diversions will be enforced. Authorities, including the Delhi Police and central agencies, are on high alert. The Delhi Metro services may also be affected. Reports say Putin’s plane is expected to land at Palam Airport around 6 pm. He will then head straight to the ITC Maurya Hotel on Sardar Patel Marg in Chanakyapuri. In the evening, Prime Minister Modi will host a private dinner for him at his residence.

Putin’s Movement in Delhi

During his visit, Vladimir Putin’s travel from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to Prime Minister Modi’s residence may temporarily affect traffic on key roads such as NH-8, Dhaula Kuan, Delhi Cantt, Sardar Patel Marg, Panchsheel Marg, and Shanti Path. Police officials say the exact route details are not being made public for security reasons, but traffic disruptions are expected to be brief.

Friday will be the busiest day of Putin’s visit:

  • Morning: Visit to Rajghat to pay tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.
  • Midday: Bilateral meeting with PM Modi at Hyderabad House, followed by a joint statement.
  • Afternoon: Attendance at a FICCI event at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi.
  • Evening: Dinner hosted by the Government of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

SWAT teams, anti-terror squads, and QRT units will be deployed along his travel routes, while drones will monitor key locations. Additionally, more than 50 officers from Russia’s advance security team are present in the city.
