Chandigarh: Days after Punjab Police initiated action against Amritpal Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said his government will not allow disturbing the peace and harmony of the state. 

In a Video Message on Tuesday, CM Bhagwant Mann said that peace and harmony in Punjab is a priority of his government. 

Punjab police on Saturday initiated a major crackdown against Waris Punjab de Chief and pro-Khalistani preacher Amritpal Singh. Many of his close associates have been arrested so far. Amritpal Singh is still on the run. 

Speaking on the Amritpal issue, Bhagwant Mann said that he had received many calls from people praising his government.

“People are telling me, your government have done a good job. There should be peace and harmony in the state, In this matter, we will support you,” Mann said in a Video Message 

Punjab’s peace, harmony, and the country’s progress are the top priority, Mann added. 

“I thank 3 crores Punjabis for their support in the Police operation against Amritpal Singh and his aide, There has not been any single report of any unwanted incident in the state. It has boosted my confidence that people want peace and progress,” Punjab CM said.
