As the Punjab Police files the chargesheet against YouTuber Jasbir Singh, more details about his espionage for Pakistan is coming to light. In the chargesheet, Police’s State Special Operations Cell (SSOC) has claimed to have found photographs of Bhakra Dam, Indian Air Force’s airstrip in Chandigarh, and several other Indian Army defence installations in the possession of arrested YouTuber Jasbir Singh. Jasbir is accused of spying for Pakistan.
Additionally, the SSOC also found the mobile number of a dismissed Pakistan High Commission staffer, Danish alias Ehsan-ur-Rehman. Danish is the same person whom Jyoti Malhotra met many times. Haryana YouTuber Jyoti is in jail- she is also accused of spying for Pakistan.
The SSOC has also found evidence of phone calls and chats between Danish and the YouTuber Jasbir. These findings form part of a 1,700-page chargesheet filed by the SSOC in court on Tuesday.Jasbir, a resident of Mehlan village in Ropar district, was arrested in June on charges of espionage.
Who Is Jasbir Singh
Jasbir, a resident of Mehlan village in Ropar, was arrested in June on charges of spying, though his lawyer claimed the police had falsely implicated him. The chargesheet states that he was in contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who had earlier been arrested in a similar case, and Danish, a dismissed Pakistani official. Police began tracking Jasbir after he released a collaborative video with Malhotra on his YouTube channel. Investigators are now trying to find out how closely he was linked with Malhotra and Danish, and whether he shared any sensitive information with foreign handlers.
Who Is Jyoti Malhotra
A YouTuber named Jyoti was arrested in Hisar, Haryana, on May 18. She had visited Pakistan three times, two of those times with Sikh pilgrim groups. While there, she became close to a Pakistani embassy staff member named Danish. She is accused of sharing secret information with him. Reports also say she travelled with a Danish to Bali, Indonesia. Jyoti lost her job during COVID and started making videos. Her videos often praise Pakistan.
