Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann launches free medical camps, calls entire state his ‘family’

The Chief Minister announced that the government will release daily health updates at 6 PM to ensure that people get accurate and reliable information on time.

After the recent floods in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said that his government had already launched a wide-ranging health safety plan and set up medical camps to prevent the spread of diseases. He said, “Entire Punjab is my family, and I am always committed to the well-being of my family. That is why health department teams are deployed round the clock in villages and towns.”

According to official data released for September 14, 15, and 16, the majority of medical cases reported were fever and skin infections. Additionally, 14,848 cases of diarrhoea, cough, and other infections were reported.

The Chief Minister announced that the government will release daily health updates at 6 PM to ensure that people get accurate and reliable information on time. He urged anyone experiencing fever, skin infection, or other symptoms to immediately visit the government-run medical camps.

So far, more than 1,250 relief and health camps have been set up, benefiting over 1.8 lakh people. Health teams have also been deployed at several Anganwadi and Aashirwad centres.

As part of a special health drive, ASHA workers are conducting door-to-door surveys to spread awareness about preventive measures. Officials confirmed that lakhs of people have already been checked, with families being advised on hygiene, drinking boiled water, and protecting against mosquitoes.

AAP volunteers, workers, and office bearers are also actively taking part in relief and sanitation efforts. Ministers and MLAs are personally visiting villages and towns to participate in service work.

“This is not just the government’s responsibility but also a shared duty of every Punjabi to keep our villages, towns, and neighbourhoods disease-free,” the CM said.
Health officials have warned that once floodwaters recede, the risks of infections and seasonal illnesses rise. To counter this, the Punjab government has already put strict monitoring in place. Special isolation wards have been set up in government hospitals, with doctors on duty round-the-clock.

The Chief Minister assured that no citizen of Punjab will face hardship. He said the government is reaching every individual with medical help and urged people to immediately contact nearby medical camps or teams in case of any health problem.
